MORRISON - It's being called the Prius of homes. It's a new program of living called Net-Zero living. The new program is being sponsored by KB Homes in Denver.
They say the homes are tricked out with the latest in new home technology. The homes are currently being mass-produced in the Bear Creek Meadows community.
"A Net Home energy home generates as much energy as it consumes," Vice President for KB Homes, Darrell Hensley said.
The ZeroHouse 2.0 is making it a possibility for Denver home buyers to obtain a home with energy utility costs close to zero.
"The exciting thing here is that these homes are not unique exotic homes. We've figured out way to build these homes. We've figured out ways to build these homes with higher levels of insulation, we have a high-efficient furnace, we have solar hot water and solar panels that generate electricity. This is all in a 2,000sq. ft. ranch with a full basement," Hensley said.
